Explore Nature in San Jose del Cabo
From December until March is the whale watching season. During this time one can witness the mating and birth process of the gray whale. Gray whales make the longest migration of any mammal, a 6,000 mile journey from their summer homes in the Bering and Chukchi Seas between Alaska and Siberia, to winter in the warm waters of Baja California and the Sea of Cortez. Book a tour – it's really worth seeing!
Many of the hotels including the Hotel Presidente, at the end of the block from our condo, participate in the turtle release program with runs from June until December. Turtle eggs found along the beach are collected, hatched and released. The Sea Turtle is making a comeback in the waters of Cabo San Lucas and you have the opportunity to help. You will choose a baby sea turtle that has been raised by the Turtle Conservation Program. You can adopt the turtle and then release the baby into its natural habitat in the sea.
San Jose Estuary and Bird Sanctuary
Paseo San Jose, (East of Presidente Forum Resort), San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico
Five minutes from downtown San Jose or a short walk from our condo is a tranquil expanse populated by 250 species of exotic birds such as colorful moorhens, their cousins the coots, orioles, grebes, ibis, heron, ducks, woodpeckers, egrets, herons and brown pelicans, to name a few. Rent a kayak to experience this estuary, home to many native and migratory birds. Sunrise and sunset are the most active times to visit. For you bird-watchers you’ll probably see the most bird types in the daylight hours. Don’t forget to look in the water, too – you never know what you might spot! There is a cultural center to answer questions. A very pleasant contemplative walk for all ages. Admission is free.

San Jose del Cabo Art Walk
Every Thursday from October until the end of June enjoy a leisurely evening stroll through the art district sipping complimentary wine and tequila. Experience the color and creativity flowing from the old adobe buildings in the ever-growing Art District. Behind the main square ( El Centro) and church and away from the main streets are fifteen galleries that feature the works of artists and artisans from Mexico and beyond. This is an excellent opportunity to pick up an original piece for home or as a gift. Many of the local artists display only at the art walk and therefore is the only chance you have to buy their work. A great cultural time!
Weather
Los Cabos weather is mild and sunny most of the year with an average yearly temperature of 23c and an average rainfall of 10 inches, most of which occurs in August and September. With over 300 days of sunshine it is no wonder that San Jose del Cabo has become a popular destination spot!
